What is Modulation?

Modulation is altering a fundamental Waveform. Modulating a Waveform introduces another Frequency, which can intensify the effect of a Waveform.

A simple example of Modulation is scrubbing a pot. One can scrub back and forth in a straight line, but adding up and down, or circular or "S" patterns to the back and forth will work a lot better. An Orbital Sanding machine works much better than a Straight Line Sanding machine.
